Nations are rooted in the Fatherhood of God. When God decided to establish one nation-people as an example to all the Nations of the World, He chose a man to become the Father of that Nation. He made a covenant with him and his family to become the template from how nations are to be conceived. So He declared to Abram, “In you shall all the families / nations of the earth be blessed”. It is interesting that the first name for “Nation” is “ethnos”, which is rooted in family ethnicity.
