The impact of the life of Christ, His death on the Cross and the power of His Resurrection provides redemption for sinners, reconciliation to all people, and the influence of the Kingdom of God to all nations. This is the fulfillment of the New Covenant of God, foreshadowed in the Old Testament through God’s covenant with the people of Israel.

This month we will be introduced in the Book of Daniel to the remarkable lives of four Jewish men who displayed the power of God within a heathen nation. They were part of the Jewish captives living in exile within the Babylonian kingdom under the cruel rulership of King Nebuchadnezzar.

In spite of the tests and threats against their lives, they remained faithful to YHWH resisting the demand to violate their faith and to swear idolatrous allegiance to the King and his culture. God preserved them through every trial and made them excel in wisdom and revelation above all others, until they were promoted to positions of authority and governance to rule in Babylon.

Today, like the early Christians in the Acts of the Apostles, we can be totally transformed by the resurrection life of Jesus and be empowered by the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  We too must redeem sinners through the blood of Jesus, heal the sick in His name, confound the authorities through the scriptures, and deliver the people from the culture of this perverse generation.
