One of my favorite stories of the children of Israel’s exodus from Egypt happens right before the famous Red Sea parting.
To pain the picture for you; the children of Israel are between two insurmountable mountains, the Red Sea in front of them, and the murder hungry Pharoah and his army are breathing down the back of their necks.
Feeling helpless, the children of Israel began to moan, complain, and accused Moses of bringing them out in the wilderness to kill them because there “weren’t enough graves in Egypt.” ( Isint it funny how we can create ridiculous narratives in pressure situations?)
Finally, Moses stands before the trembling and angry crowd and speaks a message that I believe can reverberate in our lives today,
“Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” (Exodus 14:13-14)
In this very moment of boldfaced faith to his followers, he almost in step, turns to God in absolute flabbergast as to what to do with these people.
As the crying complaint was forming on Moses’ lips, God interrupts him and says these magnificent and empowering words, “WHY ARE YOU CRYING TO ME, TELL THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL TO MOVE FORWARD!”( Exodus 14:15)
These words are so impacting because I believe that they are speaking to me and so many people who may have found themselves stuck in a hard place, there are obstacles all around, the threat of death (beit disease, sickness, loss of job, client, or even family) is so close that you can taste it. There are impossibilities surrounding you, yet you see no practical way out, you have only one choice, move forward or die.
In this season for my life, this is a word for me, as I continue to do something that I’ve never done before, pastor and lead a congregation of people into the fullness of what God has for all of us, continue in marketplace ministery impacting business, government, and tech. I believe it is also a word in season for you as you embark on starting a family, building a business, gaining the trust of your kids, maybe even losing weight to get into optimal health, or whatever your “impossibility” is.
Listen, I don’t know what your impossibility is.
But I do know that every impossibility will become the very avenue that God creates for you to move you from the threat of demise to the triumph of your destiny!
This new season will require your bold faith and trust in God to do what God said and “MOVE FORWARD INTO YOUR NEXT.!!”
That is what the life of faith is all about, movement forward into God’s promises without wavering.
There is no time for stopping, or complaining, or going back, the only way to God’s promises in your life is forward. So what are you waiting for?
MOVE FORWARD!
